“SEC refs suck” is something coaches can’t say
Apparently the only group that can bad mouth SEC referees is the SEC, as two coaches found out today.
SEC Commissioner Mike Slive issued a public reprimand to Tennessee head football coach Lane Kiffin and Mississippi State University head football coach Dan Mullen for public comments concerning officiating this weekend.
It marks the second reprimand for Kiffin, [...]

Florida is the unanimous No. 1 going into next weekend’s game against the Bulldogs. Alabama is a firm 2, while USC continues to be in the top 4 despite getting beat by Washington, which lost this weekend by at least 500 points. Poor Iowa gets no love. I bet they’d beat Washington.

The uproar following the celebration penalty called on Georgia receiver A.J. Green at the end of the Bulldogs’ loss to LSU was justified, the SEC said in the days after the game.
Now, the same officiating crew, which blew a call in Saturday’s Arkansas-Florida game, has been suspended until at least Nov. 14.
Just deserts, said Georgia [...]

Release from the SEC. This is the same crew that called A.J. Green’s “excessive celebration” penalty.
Hmmmm…..
The officiating crew from Saturday’s Arkansas at Florida football game will be removed from its next scheduled assignment on Oct. 31 and will not be assigned to officiate as a crew until Nov. 14, Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive announced [...]

Fred Munzenmaier has always had a knack for finding the end zone.
Coming into the season, Georgia’s junior fullback had two carries for two touchdowns. He added another in his third career carry against Arizona State. All came from one yard out.
With senior Shaun Chapas out with “multiple stingers” against Vanderbilt, Munzenmaier made the most of [...]

Well look who dropped from atop the AP poll. The Florida Gators are no longer the consensus top team in the land, as Alabama took a slim margin over the Gators. I still don’t understand how USC loses to Washington and manages to stay in the top 5, ahead of Miami and LSU, teams which [...]
