Just awesome.

The following came in the form of a “Letter to the Editor” from Nathan Koskey, a worker at Snelling Dining Hall on campus from what I can gather from the UGA search:
“I wanted to thank the Red and Black so much for the opportunity to harm the spawn of Satan! I’m really hoping that we [...]

Vols gimmicks hit the ATL

The Atlanta area is the second casuality in Tennessee recruiting and hype machine efforts, joining the state of Florida in recieving 14 x 48 feet digital billboards put up by the Volunteers.
The AJC is reporting the billboards will feature coach Lane Kiffin and Atlanta native Eric Berry, who the Vols are campaigning to win the Heisman.
Additional billboards [...]

Roster Rundown: Troupe — Strickland

Israel Troupe (right, No. 28), WR, RSo.
Vitals: 6-1, 215, Tifton, Ga.
Outlook: With only four catches for 39 yards last season, Troupe has nowhere to go but up. And in the G-Day game in the spring, the progress Israel has made was on display. The former elite high school baseball prospect turned pass-catcher hauled in [...]

Oklahoma St. LB says Bulldogs 'should be scared'

With Georgia-Oklahoma State just 37 or so days away, it’s never too early for the trash talking — at least from the Cowboys’ perspective.
According to the San Antonio newspaper, OSU linebacker Andre Sexton has this to say about his team’s season opener against the Bulldogs: “Georgia’s the one that has to be scared. Not us.”
This [...]

Roster Rundown: Walsh — Tyson

Blair Walsh, PK, So.
Vitals: 5-10, 180, from Boca Raton, Fla.
Outlook: Walsh struggled with kickoffs at times last season, and to a lesser degree with field goals. Both of these things seemed to weigh heavy on the mind of the very strong-legged, very high-touted kicker, as he stopped giving interviews about football prior to the Capital [...]

The Roster Rundown continues…White — Washington

Aron White, TE, RSo.
Vitals: 6-4, 227, from Columbia, Mo.
Outlook: White is at the top of the depth chart entering practice, with Bruce Figgins suspended for six games. That leaves White as the only returning tight-end with experience (3 catches, for 88 yards and 2 TD’s in 2008), with Bryce Ros and Derek Rich joining freshmen [...]

Big-time Georgia receiver picks Tennessee

Markeith Ambles, a national top 50 prospect, committed to the Volunteers Tuesday over offers from Florida, Notre Dame, Florida State and many others.
The 7th-ranked wide receiver in the nation from McDonough chose Tennessee after attending Florida’s Friday Night Lights.
“It was really close between the two of them,” Ambles told Rivals.com. “Both Florida and Tennessee were [...]

SEC championship game at Dome until 2015

The prospect of playing the annual Georgia-Florida game at the Georgia Dome occasionally remains at issue, but at least one marquee SEC game will remain in Atlanta.
The conference announced a five-year extension of its agreement with the Dome Tuesday, keeping the SEC Championship in Atlanta until at least 2015.
Since moving to the Dome in 1994, [...]

Bulldog's brother chooses the Gators

AJC’s Chip Towers reports that Neiron Ball, the brother of current Georgia defensive end Neland Ball, has committed to Florida over the Bulldogs.
Neiron is also a defensive end from Jackson High School, and said this about the influence of his brother’s presence in Athens on his decision: “I wanted to be there because of him [...]

Welcome to the Georgia "Roster Rundown"

Over the next several weeks, Fletcher and I will go through every single player on Georgia’s 2009 roster, and provide insight, predictions or quotes (or all three, pretty much whatever we feel like) on each Bulldogs’ potential impact on the season.
Just to mess with your head, we’ll work backwards from Z to A, running through [...]
